Struggling Premier League side Portsmouth, made a swoop into the transfer market yesterday, signing Hayden Mullins from West Ham, and an old bloke from Porto.
Edison Arantes do Nascimento is 68 years old, but is well-known in Portugal and his home country of Brasil, and is reputed to be one of the best footballers, if not THE best, the world has ever seen.
Nicknamed Pele, the striker has been brought in to bolster a flagging Pompey, and to save the job of beleaguered manager Tony Adams.
Adams was delighted with his new acquisition, and may put the pensioner straight into the Pompey side to meet Aston Villa tonight.
Said Adams:
"He's a bit tricky, an good old fashioned striker with an eye for goal."
