Reports just out today reveal that Australian cricketers have been seen practising their skills in a empty river bed just outside Brisbane.
Ricky Ponting and his band of merry men were seen with cricket equipment practising their catching, bowling and batting skills on the empty watercourse located in Ipswich, 40 kilometres from Brisbane city, venue for the First Test against New Zealand.
Apparently, this is not the first time that the Aussies have resorted to such unusual practise sessions. In South Africa several years ago, the Australian team was caught practising on top of Tabletop Mountain on the outskirts of Capetown. Then, players such as Steve Waugh and Mat Hayden were seen hitting balls over the mountain's precipice to the valleys below without a care in the world.
Rumours abounded that the players were in a chemically induced haze designed to broaden their conciousness. The recent events have sought to fan rumours that the Aussies have been on the "ice" and will try anything to improve their win/loss ratio.
