England players hiding from the press earlier today

The world of rugby was shocked earlier today when New Zealand police arrested four English rugby players. Police are believed to be investigating claims that the players tackled opposing All Blacks, passed the ball to each other and, in one case, attempted to 'find touch'.

England coach Rob Andrew denies that any members of the team had performed in any way. "The guys totally refute these allegations. We came here not to do a job. The All Blacks are bigger and stronger than our guys so to try to tackle them would be crazy. Look what happens to Jonny every time he tries to be a hero and tackle someone."

It is thought that the allegations were made by someone not directly linked with the All Blacks. An official spokesperson for the All Blacks said :Can we play you every week?"

It remains to be seen whether formal charges will be made. If the players are found guilty then they can expect severe punishment. Bill Beaumont was forced to appear on A Question of Sport with David Coleman for similar indiscretions in the early 1980s.

The remaining English players now want to focus on loosing the remaining fixtures on their tour.

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
