Routine win, y'know

Jermain Defoe, England's two-goal hero in last night's 3-0 demolition of giants Trinidad & Tobago, has smashed the "Y'know" record, by uttering it more than 300 times in a post-match interview with the BBC.

Defoe, dePortsmouth, was speaking to the BBC's Ray Stubbs deTranmere, and nervously spluttered his trademark "Y'know" an incredible 307 times in a three-minute spiel which had Alans Hansen and Shearer looking, y'know, decidedly uncomfortable back in the Match of the Day studio.

Hansen deLiverpool said:

"The lad's done great to score twice, but he needs to work on his interview skills."

And Shearer deNewcastle told Gary Lineker, brother of Wayne, deTax Fiddling:

"It's a game of two halves, and, in Jermain's case, two words, y'know."

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
