Louisville, Kentucky - (Thoroughbred Mess): Unbeaten 3/1 Kentucky derby favorite Big Brown is the bees' knees' to trainer Rick Dutrow who has dismissed kiss-of-death fears for the colt's outside draw of stall number 20 as nothing more than numerology superstition.
"Besides, twenty's my personal favorite number," Dutrow chuckled today, "and 20/1 is the price I got when I backed my boy in a two million dollar ante-post wager, hehehe."
The 2008 Florida Derby winner apparently also has 20 unusual dollar sign birthmarks on his coat.
This immediately singled him out as a potential Kentucky Derby must-have to a group of former Off-the-Wall-Street investment bankers who bought him after deciding to diversify into horseflesh back in the 2006 yearling sales.
"Funny thing is them twenty dollar birthmark signs are all grouped around the colt's wedding tackle," Dutrow mused in a eve-of-race press interview.
"Has to be a sign of massive stud fees in the future, hasn't it?"
