Cristiano Ronaldo today put pen to paper on a new twelve month contract with a leading network. Under the terms of the new deal, Ronaldo will be required to pay £14.99 a month, in return for which he will receive a brand new mobile phone. Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson today spoke of his delight at the news.
"It's fantastic for the boy. He's just a young lad really, so to receive this kind of offer is great for him. Hopefully we will now go on to see even better things from him in the future. I have seen him looking at various items of kitchenware in the Argos catalogue, so who knows what could be next?"
Other Manchester United players were quick to heap praise on the talented player. Gary Neville added his endorsement of the gifted winger.
"Well, obviously we all know what Ronaldo is capable of. He is already becoming legendary at Old Trafford because of his sharp business sense and his eye for a good deal, so it was no surprise really. I mean, only last week he picked up some right bargains at the flea market in Moss Side."
Edwin Van De Sar also was also quick to acknowledge the skill of the Portuguese star.
"When we had finished training the other day, Ronaldo came round to give me advice on which garden furniture I should buy. I tell you, what that lad doesn't know about hard-wearing plastic isn't worth knowing."
It is not the first time that Cristiano Ronaldo's prodigious talent has caught the public's attention, and it certainly won't be the last. Keep watching this space...
