Ibraham Meir has been added to the three man Palestinian team for the Athens Olympics after being spotted pole vaulting a perimeter fence on the outskirts of Jerusalem yesterday.
Using three mop handles lashed together with rope Meir modestly attributed his success in the fast growing sport to a lack of access to decent fastfood in his neighbourhood and the lure of the MacKosher burger advertised prominently on Israeli state television.
Interviewed yesterday for the Palestinian Tablet, Meir said he had no qualms competing against infidels and oppressors as long as he was not shot during competition.
