Jamaican Police say they have acquired video footage tapes from the CCTV camera in the corridor outside Bob Woolmer's room, the location where it is believed he was murdered.
Deputy police commissioner Mark Shields said they were hopeful that the footage from the 12th floor could yield images of whoever strangled Woolmer last week, and added that the police department had deducted that whoever was involved in the Australian's demise would have had to pass by the camera and therefore may well be captured on the video tapes.
Shields said, effectively this would mean that there is potentially incriminating evidence stored on the tapes which could point towards the identity of the assailant. This could be very important information in the event of a police investigation in that it could help establish the guilt of the murderer.
