Omaha, Nebraska- This week marks the beginning of the college World Series. Eight of the best teams in college baseball will square off in a double elimination tournament. Tad Ameritrade park will be the host site for this venue, and the right teams competing are, Louisville, Texas, Mississippi, California Urvine, Texas Tech, Texas Christian, Vanderbilt, and Virginia. However, one team has sparked the interest of the locals in Omaha,Nebraska and that team is the Louisville Cardinals.
Why are people draw to this team? The reason is because there is actually a local playing on a division 1 team. Grant Kay, the first baseman for Louisville attended Ralston High school which is located in Omaha, Nebraska. When news struck that Louisville had made the World Series social media in the Omaha area erupted. Statuses and shout out we're clogging the area, shout outs such as this one from Omaha native Ben Howard , "Shout out to Grant Kay for making the World Series." Many of these statuses have very few "likes" and they never come from Grant Kay himself. Needless to say the fan base for Louisville had expanded because of the number of acquaintances Kay has made over the years. Without a doubt, it is apparent that Grant Kay has over 100 best friends who have gone through all of his ups and downs throughout his career.
Everyone hopes for the best at the College World Seeies, but only one team will win. Needless to say, if Louisville does not win, Grant Kay will lose many very, very good friends.
