New York Jets spare part Tim Tebow has issued a writ against Pope Benedict XVI after footage of a blessing at St. Peters Basilica showed the Catholic leader drop to one knee to anoint a young child. This has been deemed a breach of the trademark Tebow has on the Tebowing maneuver.

"Because it was in praise of god that contravenes the trademark." Sonny Norman a Lawyer representing Tebow told the Associated Press "We have already issued cease and desist notices against Ben Roethlisberger and Robert Downey Jr. We also sent a letter to Lambeth Palace in London asking the Archbishop of Canterbury Rowen Williams to instruct Anglicans to stop bending on one knee. He agreed and the motion banning Tebowing in the Anglican church world wide was passed. The Vatican ignored our warning and we have now issued a writ suing The Pope."

The trademark that Tebow has taken out prevents anyone going down on one knee in a sporting arena or in praise of God. However it is permissible for a man to adopt the pose when proposing marriage to a woman as long as they are more than 300 ft from a football arena. It is also permissible to adopt the pose when firing a weapon as long as you do not prey before or after pulling the trigger.

Fr. Mark Shibatta of the Vatican Radio US service said "This is disrespectful to the Pope and to the Catholic Church. His Holiness will not be dictated to by a football player."

Meanwhile the British Royal family and the French President have joined together in a historic treaty to fight for the Tebow Trademark to be overturned. This was after the awarding of Knighthoods and Légion d'honneur has had to be suspended as recipients are expected to kneel when having the honor bestowed.

"I just want to protect the pose from evil." Tim Tebow told ESPN "It isn't about the money it's about me and God having a unique relationship."

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
