The IOC have confirmed the fact that Tiddlywinks, Snakes & Ladders, Ludo & Scrabble will all become Olympic sports in 2016. Scrabble seems to be a slight problem because of the language barrier, but as usual Seb Coe got his way and forced to have English as the Scrabble language because then the Brits and US will always have an advantage!
Representatives of the above mentioned games are over the moon because they feel BMX riding, synchronised swimming and poncing around on dresseur horses, etc, are not real sports and their sports are.
A chess delegation also attempted to make their sport an Olympic one, but they were kicked out because of the advantage that Russians have. Another reason was that no new rich, multi-billionaire Russian, was willing to back their case because they prefer financing sports held in the red light districts of Moscow; much healthier!
Qualification for the Olympic board games promises to be exciting because spectators visiting the contests have been promised blankets, hot chocolate and bunk beds just in case they fall asleep through boredom; similar to watching BMX racing......ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!
