The pupils of an East London Primary School were treated to an awesome display of speed today as Usain Bolt easily won the egg and spoon race in their annual spots day. Bolt was expected to defend his 100 meter title at the Olympic Stadium but due a malfunctioning SatNav he was instead transported to St. Thomas' Primary School Sports Field, Millwall.
Didn't appear to notice
Bolt didn't appear to notice the error as he treated the crowd to his trademark showboating on the start line and performed his "lightning bolt" pose as he crossed the line.
Jack Wilmot (aged 8) who was beaten into second place by Bolt stated, "I am a bit disappointed to come second. I know he's the Olympic champion but when Carl Rogers got expelled for putting soil down Miss Wilkinsons dress last week I really thought this was my year."
Bolt was unavailable for comment after the race but his spokesman later confirmed that he was now focused on preparing for the three legged race. Team GB athlete Dwain Chambers came in a disappointing 7th.
