Hearn booked the Orient Express to celebrate

The Olympic Steering Committee (or is that Beering committee) have finally come to a decision as to which football team will move into the white elephant that is the Olympic Stadium in Stratford.

The committee have agreed that West Ham United will be allowed to move into the stadium as tenants not owners, pay rent at £2 million a year, but also pay local rivals Leyton Orient a £1 levy for every supporter that watches the Hammers in the new stadium.

The committee came to the decision after months of wrangling, wriggling, claims and counter claims by the clubs involved - Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham United and Leyton Orient.

Tottenham Hotspur have already got what they wanted - a promise of new land in their current locality and cash from Haringey Council, backed and approved by Mayor Of London Boring Johnson.

West Ham United will now get the stadium and cash from Newham Council to spend on new players, but have to pay Leyton Orient for every supporter they attract, which at an average of 40,000 per match could work out £1 million pound per season.

Leyton Orient chairman Barry Hearn, when told the news this morning replied to reporters "I'm delighted. A million quid? Well, its better than nothing. I told the fans I knew what I was doing. Justice for the smaller clubs at last - right I'm off down the wine bar to celebrate!"

The story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
