After a spate of incidents involving football players long hair and ponytails the F.A. is thinking of bringing in a new rule to ban long hair and ponytails altogether!
"Football players these days are worth millions of pounds and need to be protected at all costs. It is a health and safety issue after all," a players union representative said.
This is just one rule being thought of by the F.A. Others include keeping elbows down at all times and forcing goalkeepers to wear tracksuit bottoms at all times.
Players are reported to be against the idea.
"Why can't we just wear headbands?" one player was heard asking.
The ruling won't come in before Christmas but expect a surge in headband sales or weird and new haircuts, something not new in the game.
Investigators have spent several hours looking for a punchline, but none could be found.
