Mount Palomar, California (IP) - The Geminid meteor shower that was scheduled for December 13th, and 14th has been cancelled.
The reason given for the cancellation is the writer's strike that is currently underway. The special effects teams refuse to cross the picket lines and they do not believe that the strike will end over night so the shower is off for this year.
Last month the special effects teams put on a spectacular show with comet Holmes and they hope that the strike will be resolved by the middle of January so that they can show off their special effects with comet Machholz.
