WASHINGTON (FMLiveWire) - A Republican avatar of Congressman Ron Paul has been elected President of the United States in the 3D virtual reality world of Second Life.
The Paul avatar ran against a Democratic avatar of Senator Hillary Clinton in the highly popular web world Second Life. Millions of virtual US citizens participated in the vote, which was not tainted with virtual voting machine rigging or meddling by crooked avatars of the US Supreme Court.
The US is represented by a large virtual island in Second Life where alleged US citizens can own real estate and participate in various business and cultural activities using Linden dollars.
The Hillary Clinton avatar did not concede defeat graciously and instead announced that it would form the new island Republic of Clintonland and urged the 3D inhabitants of the US to move there.
The virtual presidential campaign was characterized by violence involving 3D digital bombs which destroyed the headquarters of the Ron Paul avatar. Fortunately, no avatars were injured but some virtual real estate was lost and had to be rebuilt.
The avatar of the new President Ron Paul promptly announced a withdrawal of US forces from virtual Iraq and Afghanistan, where freedom-fighting insurgents continued to cause huge losses.
Virtual President Paul also announced the end of the US Federal Reserve and of the Department of Homeland Security, and an end of US forces occupying other parts of Second Life. The Paul avatar also said the US dollar was to be replaced with Linden dollars, which he will back up with virtual gold in a return to the gold standard.
"I am ending the US foreign presence and activities in Second Life which spark hatred and violence against the US," said virtual President Paul.
Virtual Paul also started a large campaign of virtual renewable energy use and energy efficiency measures to replace virtual imported oil into the US.
The avatars of George W. Bush, Dick Cheney and Karl Rove have been jailed for war crimes after extensive investigations by the virtual Congress. They admitted their complicity in staging 9/11 during virtual hearings and of illegally starting the virtual wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
