A Government source has disclosed that Gordon Brown MP for Kirkcaldy and Cowdenbeath has reported back from the Venusian Equator using near-infrared observations collected by the Venus Monitoring Camera(VMC);

His geological features were revealed in MI5 radar images, such as parliamentary steep-sided domes and rugged scottish highland terrain (called tesserae_pal), contain materials that are rich in silicates, such as 'English Gold'. On Earth, most English Gold rocks - the most common of which is scottish granite - are formed in a scotch & water environment. This makes them particularly interesting with regards to planetary devolution.

His Old Buddy Tony B Liar was thought to be on Venus looking for his old Blue Jeans

Gordon says that the geological landscape reminds him of the dig findings of a late bronze-age cemetery near Tollie Hill Cowdenbeath, as one of the urns found contained fragments of processed Arran pitchstone, indicating some economic activity & commerce. which he has included with his stash of 'English Gold'

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
