At the beginning of June the UK has gone into a red white and blue frenzy of celebration of the fact that the Queen Elizabeth II is still alive.

What has been overlooked is that the creator of the Jumblies, Edward Lear was born in 1812 so it is also his 200th birthday. Unfortunately he is dead, however his creation, The Jumblies, will live forever (especially for those with children).

Therefore I think we should have a Jumblies Jubilee. Can we combine the both and update The Jumblies for the Diamond Jubilee? Apologies in advance

They went to see the old Queen, they did,
Our old Queen they went to see:
In spite of all their friends could say,
On a summer's morn, on a showery day,
The old Queen they went to see!
And when the bus turned over and crashed,
And every one cried, 'You'll all be crushed!'
They called aloud, 'Our bus ain't big,
But we don't care a button! we don't care a fig!
The Queen we'll still go to see!'

Far and few, far and few,
Are the lands where Jumblies are seen;
Their heads are green, and their hands are blue,
And they went to see our old Queen.

Edward Lear RIP
God Save the Queen
