In a shock move last night, forty-five MPs signed an agreement to rename England to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.
'Jubilengland' is the new name by which we will begin using in relation to our country from 28th July this year. Every household in Britain will recieve a reminder on that date.
The popular website visitengland.co.uk has put in a request for a new domain name, which is due to come into force next week.
A spokesperson for the Royal Family said 'this is an extremely exciting move which will ensure that the memory of the Diamond Jubilee lives on for many years to come. Every member of the Royal Family has complimented the new naming of the country. It is definitely for the best.'
However, not everyone is pleased. Fifty-two Republicans have announced their plans to commit mass suicide if the new legislation goes ahead. Chief Maxwell Connotator says 'this is a frivolous name change which cannot happen. Anyone who wants to remember the Royal Family is out of their mind!'
