Paris France: The Napoleon Society of France (NSF) has announced a 200 year anniversary gourmet dinner, commemorating Napoleon's Russian Campaign of June 1812. Napoleon Bonaparte (1769-1821) crowned himself Emperor of the French and King of Italy in 1804.

The NSF will host the dinner in the Waterloo Grand Ballroom of the Paris Hilton hotel. Guest speakers throughout dinner include President of the French Republic Nicolas Sarkozy (or his successor); German Chancellor Angela Merkel (Prussian officials weren't interested); Prime Minister of Russia Vladimir Putin; and UK Prime Minister David Cameron.

The dinner menu consists of:

APPETIZERS
Belgium Endive Salad
Russian Borscht
French Baguettes and Beurre

MAIN COURSE
Beef Wellington Beef with pâté, mushrooms, truffles and Madeira sauce, all encased in a pastry crust. [Named after Arthur Wellesley, 1st Duke of Wellington (1769-1852); British Field Marshal who defeated Napoleon at the Battle of Waterloo in June 1815.]

DESSERTS
Napoleon Pastry Mille-feuille consists of two layers of cream and/or custard between three layers of puff pastry, the top being dusted with confectioner's sugar.

Napoleon Cherries A bowl of sweet white-fleshed (bigarreau) cherries with whipped cream.

Marshal Ney Molded tiers of meringue shells, vanilla custard, and marzipan [Named after Napoleon's Marshal Michel Ney (1769-1815) who led the retreat from Moscow in October 1812 and was a commander at the Battle of Waterloo in Belgium.]

Napoleon Coffee/Chicory (Napoleon suggested chicory as a substitute when his attempts to circumvent the British blockade failed. This coffee is popular in New Orleans LA.)
