Have you ever watched Prime Minister's Questions and thought "I'd love to do that"?
Well now you can, with the official Prime Minister's Questions board game.
It is a game for three players. One player takes the part of the Leader of the Opposition, one plays the Prime Minister and the third player is the Speaker of the House.
The game is simple. The Leader of the Opposition thinks up a series of challenging questions to ask the Prime Minister. After he asks each one in turn, the Prime Minister then chooses at random a pre-printed card from one of the three piles of answer cards and reads it out.
The first pile contains "rebuttal" answers, with denials and counterstatements such as "the honourable lady should familiarise herself with her party's manifesto promises" or "may I remind the honourable gentleman that it was his government who introduced this policy". Players are free to embellish their answer as desired.
Alternatively the Prime Minister may choose a "redirection" card. These try to change the subject, such as "I seem to recall a time when the honourable gentleman opposite was caught in a compromising position" or "may I refer the honourable member to his last question".
The final card is the "insult" pile. It contains out-and-out offensive replies, such as "I put it to the honourable member that his party is not capable of government", or "the party opposite shows all the signs of being out of touch and having lost their way". If a card from the insult pile is chosen, then the Speaker may intervene by shouting "Order! Order!".
After 30 minutes of play, the game is over. There is no winner.
Yes it's fun for all the family. Suitable for ages 18 and above.
