Back To Black

Unconfirmed reports are filtering through that 27 year old diva, Amy Winehouse has been found dead in her North London flat. The Back To Black singer had a history of drug and alcohol problems.

Amy had a fantastic future ahead of her, but she lived the punk dream and blew it.

It was a tragic end for a potentially brilliant artiste; Rehab, and Valerie, becoming R&B classics, but drugs and alcohol eventually took their toll.

Amy was booed off stage recently at an Eastern European rock festival in Belgrade, following a shambolic performance where she stumbled around on stage, slurring her words, and having to sit down on lighting rigs, because she was apparently so drunk.

Following that gig, her management team withdrew her from all performances, and sent her off again for rehab. Sadly, she'll never resume that tour, or any other one.

Amy is another rock and roll casualty.

A supreme talent who simply couldn't stop from pressing the self destruct button. This tragic ending was almost inevitable, in much the same manner as Hendrix, Keith Moon, Sid Vicious, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison, Marvin Gaye, et al.

It appears that accompanied with magnificent, supreme talent, come the demons. It seems that this is a problem that no PR guru or management team have ever been able to find a solution for.

People will remember Amy's drug and drink fuelled antics, but mainly they'll remember her superb abilities as a singer, and probably reflect on a song title by Ian Dury and The Blockheads:

What A Waste.

RIP Amy.

It's the end of this one.

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
