A group of Guardian readers, hippies, and Neville Chamberlain fans have gathered together in London tonight to protest against UN-sanctioned attacks on Libya. "Not in our name," they whine.
One protester spoke, "It's just like Iraq. On one side you have an insane dictator, and on the other side it's the same old evil capitalists. Obviously the only reason they're going for Libya is because it's full of oil and nothing to do with the fact the people are protesting."
Another said, "It's not sensible to declare war against the warmongering Libyan government. Far better to let the protesters die. If they become martyrs to democracy, they will be far more effective than if they are alive and fighting to the death."
Another protester said, "I can't believe the West is once against attacking an innocent evil dictator who is only trying to destroy his own people. I mean, what next, they'll be saying the Holocaust isn't an Israeli conspiracy!! Once again, so called Western democracy has proven itself to be the moral inferior of totalitarian cunning. If we attack Libya, where will it end - North Korea???"
