Half A Dozen Eggs Yesterday

Where would we be without eggs?

Good question - none of us would have been born were it not for eggs.

Ovulation and all that.

And chicken...where would we be without chicken?

With eggs, you've got fried eggs, boiled eggs, poached eggs, omelettes, pickled eggs, cakes, pastries, flans, and all manner of things egg related.

It's the same with chicken - roast chicken, fried chicken, chicken curry, chicken pies, chicken flavour crisps, chicken kebebs, chicken and chips and chicken chasseur - not to mention coq au vin. (Which is just really chicken cooked in white wine with a white wine bechamel sauce.)

So, which is the most important?

Funny how they don't do fried egg flavoured crisps, because eggs and potatoes have enjoyed a long standing symbiotic relationship - as in egg and chips. But they don't.

And chicken - ever so versatile. A chef's gift.

You can do anything with a chicken (Larry Sabu can confirm this) and you can do anything with an egg.

So which is the winner? The egg or the chicken?

You can't have one without the other.

It's like love and marriage - but probably different.

Coming Soon: Steak And Kidney, Sausage And Mash, Beans On Toast, Roast Beef And Yorkshire Pud, cheese and onion, pie and peas, tripe and onions, pie and mash and Fish And Chips.
Fuck Gordon Ramsay - he knows nowt.

More as we get it.
