In an interview on conservative talk radio yesterday, Mike Huckabee, potential candidate for the presidency, leaned in close to the microphone and said in a hushed tone, "I have it on good authority that Barack Obama's mother was an anthropologist!"
Host: "NO"
Huckabee: "Yes! It's hard to believe but it's true!"
Host: Are you sure?"
Huckabee: "And you know what they believe, don't you?"
Host: "What?"
Huckabee: "That we all came from monkeys! They sit around all day in a dark room and look at pictures of apes and baboons that look like men! Not a pretty picture, is it?"
Host: "NO!"
Huckabee leaned in closer to the host as if it was just the two of them that were privy to the conversation and whispered, "His mother came from Kansas!"
Host: "Really?"
Huckabee: "Do you know what that means?"
Host: "What?"
Huckabee: "The Wizard of Oz.! The flying monkeys! The wicked witch! Got it?"
Host: "Yes, I guess."
Huckabee: "It all ties together. The fact is that the president of the United States, of our beloved country, is probably an anthropologist too!"
Host: "Oh my God!"
Huckabaee: "The apple doesn't fall far from the tree, you know. I think we know what apple we are talking about here."
Host: "Yes Mike, I pray to God, and to our Lord and savior that this is not true!"
Huckabee: "Ever vigilant, Glenn." He paused and said in a whisper, almost inaudible-----"ever vigilant, my friend."
