What it is to Suffer!

Funny story written by j.w.

'There are times,' cried Penny, 'when the bottom falls out of your life. We were within 2 minuted of drawing away to Arsenal, after a fantastic performance, when Arsenal go and score the only goal of the game. We deserved a draw.'

'Penny, dear, get things in perspective' advised her mother 'West Ham are just a football club. Think of all the other important things in the world. People putting bombs on airplanes, people killed in floods.'

'You don't understand, Mum. We had a great vicory against Stoke in the Carling Cup and now in the league we lose and are still at the bottom of the League.'

Sylvia Smythe shrugged her shoulders 'I've nothing more to say.'

Penny left the room and went to ring Terry. At least he would understand.

'I know it's terrible, but we just have to prepare for the next match and take comfort from our great performance. We deserved a draw and could have won.'

Penny knew he was right. But it was hard and not fair. However she felt better now. Tomorrow was another day.

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
