The world has been waiting in anticipation for what the mayans predicted would be the end of the world as we know it. There have been movies made about this event, countless books written, and the world waits.
A group of archeologists from Columbia University recently discovered a clue that puts the whole notion that the world is coming to an end to rest. We have the scoop here at the spoof, as we find out what really is going on. We interviewed Dr. Archy about his findings.
Us: Dr. Archy what can you tell us about your recent findings?
Dr. A: Well, we were down in the Amazon and looking for clues, like most archeologists do, when we discovered something peculiar.
Us: What was it?
Dr. A: Well, I was looking at a new breed of plant that I tripped over and I wanted to draw a sketch of it. I asked my research assistant for a piece of paper when he said "We are all out."
Us: Okay, then what happened?
Dr. A: Well thats when it hit me!
Us: I am not following you sir.
Dr. A: The Mayans ran out of paper! That is why they stopped making their calendar, they were no predicting the end of the world. They were simply out of paper. And I am assuming before they could get resupplied - they were conquered. Mystery solved.
