They came again, not the woman from last time but a man this time.
Last time they came he was not alone but this time Seaton Carew had no one with him. No one to answer the door, no one to lie for him.
This time there was nobody.
So he waited. Waited for them to go. Waited, hiding behind the door, hoping they wouldn't spot him.
They even went to the back door, the wide open back door.
From the back door they could have seen the television on. They must have seen the television on.
Seaton waited, silently, barely daring to breathe for fear of revealing his presence to them.
After what seemed like an eternity of waiting, they went. As suddenly as they had appeared, they were gone.
With just one more week of the final waiting period left, Carew surely cannot have it all taken from him.
Can he?
A week to wait, a long week to hopefully survive.
But then what fate will be in store?
Seaton Carew has to wait to see.
