Givens against Sex Shop

Whippingham - Longtime resident and community leader Marjorie Givens 67 of 2 Bettsworth has protested to Mayor Shovel and Council that the Gilded Lily Flower Shop that recently opened is operating as a sex shop.

"This is the last thing that Whippingham needs to distract the youth of our community and give our town a bad name for tourists. I have seen men and women as young as forty and fifty walking in and out of the shop at all hours."

Shopkeeper Vivian Violet denies the accusations, "The Gilded Lily sells only flowers: roses, lilies, carnations and flower arrangements; the Flowers of Emotion monthly themed bouquet is popular. We also offer boxed chocolates and cards for special occasions with words of kindness printed on them as well."

Givens says Violet is not coming clean with the truth, "Sure she may be selling flowers and chocolates but it all comes down to sex in the end. It's sex she is selling pure and simple. Sex! Sex! Sex! It's as obvious as the nose on my face."

"We have enough of that kind of thing happening near Wooton Bridge on weekends without people setting up shop openly selling sex in a decent community like Whippingham."

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
