Ran to get free Tibetan haircuts

Many ordinary people across the United Kingdom consider Sir Ranulph Fiennes a bit of a hero, others a bit of a lunatic. He is the quintessential eccentric Brit: the guy who got frostbite, then cut his toe off because it was annoying him. The guy who had a skin graft on his foot, and when it came off in a very hot bath, left the discarded graft on the side for his wife to find. (We love people like that.)

He has had a heart attack, and, like reporter, nigmuncher, a triple heart bypass. Only difference is, four months later, he ran seven marathons in seven days, in seven continents. What a guy....

News is filtering through that Sir Ranulph has been awarded the Tibetan 'Pensioner's Pensioner' Award. This coveted accolade comes complete with immortality, and as many yaks as he can mount. Fabulous!

Respect, Ran.
