A day-long trip to Kentucky Kingdom this week afforded Booger Creek factory worker John Joe Hampton the most pleasant moments of his 59-year-old life.

Hampton, who has worked as a welding specialist for Holly Carburetor 35 years in nearby Booger Green, said he had never been to the 125-acre theme park, despite living less than eighty-five miles away in northern Tennessee.

"I never knowed what I was missing," said a toe-bouncing Hampton, who could hardly believe the park boasted a 13-acre water recreation area. "To think, all this has been here this whole time."

Hampton made the trip to Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom with his wife, Merdy Jean and two grandchildren, taking his first day off of work in 35 years. "I've never been one for vacations.

I do some yard work or check out the cars on the weekends. I always said that was my vacation."

Continuing on, Hampton said he could not wait to tell his co-workers at Hollys about the rollercoaster paradise practically in their own backyards. "Bet they'll be surprised too", stated a smiling Hampton.

Merdy Jean Hampton, noted that her husband did seem to be the happiest he's ever been during the seven-hour outing to Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom, but added he didn't actually ride any of the rides or engage in any other entertainment attractions while there.

"He seemed to love it, but all he really did was follow me and the kids around carrying our bags and eating hotdogs and cotton candy and grinning like a hyanie."

"But that one time when Little Johnny Joe lost his lunch on the roller coaster, Hampton got so tickled he pointed."

"I've never seen such colorful shopping bags as these we brought home with us," added John Hampton.

The story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
