Just over 18 months ago, I was paid a visit from a double-glazing salesman who persuaded me to buy some windows from his company. After listening to him for a good hour explaining the virtues of the windows and how good they were at retaining heat and keep out noise; I do remember that his last words were: "these windows are so good that they will pay for themselves within a year!"

Needless to say, it was an offer I could not refuse and so I purchased about six of them and had them duly fitted. They were wonderful and performed exactly as the salesman had described - except for one small detail - now that a year is over, THEY DID NOT PAY FOR THEMSELVES!

Now I am in their debt, owing the company several hundreds of pounds and what for? All because I believed a company salesman.

Am I gullible or what?

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
