Job Interview

While professional speaker or author may be the career of choice for many former presidents, others will obviously have to follow another path.

Take our hypothetical soon-to-be former prez, we'll call him "W." New employment may be found through networking; a president meets many, many powerful people in their daily work.

Let's say W has a friend, Elizabeth, who has an opening in her personal staff for a butler. W could ask Elizabeth to allow him to fill in until the position is filled. That would give W the chance to experience the job first hand and gain skills for his resume.

Others hang around Washington until a friend needs an endorsement. But suppose W is not asked to campaign for friends, just what can he do?

Another popular career for former presidents is loafer, after all, those four to eight years in office can be very stressful. Many find that it is time to hit the golf course or sit by the pool and relax.

The story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
