The Doncaster Man formed
a string quartet.
A Monkey on 1st Violin.
Another Monkey on 2nd Violin.
A Hippo on Viola.
A Giraffe on Cello.
They became instant stars,
Appeared with famed South Yorkshire Man,
Michael Parkinson, and on the covers of Elle,
The Times, and Hello.
Musical differences took their toll.
The Monkeys lost their hair,
the Giraffe became depressed,
and the Hippo became clinically obese.
That 2nd Album syndrome kicked in,
the group went Techno,
performed a Duet with Bond,
even collaborated with Brother Beyond.
40 Years passed, they were given a critical re-appraisal,
and now the kids think they are cool.
