Lil Black Sambo ventured into the jungle one day to seek his fortune. Much to his surprise he found armfuls of treasure. Weighed down by his unexpected great good fortune, the little black boy struggled to find his way out of the unfamiliar wilderness. Before long he realized he had been going in circles. Just then a ferocious tigress laden with her own valuables emerged from the dark jungle and came upon lil Sambo.
The glowing orange cat licked its lips in anticipation of the innocent young meal before her. The frightened child begged the predator for his life. The immense feline told the boy that if he would just put down his treasure and withdraw from her jungle, she would spare his life.
Sambo's greed won out over his wisdom and the black child began to run for it burdened by his fortune. The flame-like Tigress pursued the dark child until the chase led to a circular path around the enormous trunk of a giant tree. Round and round the pair streak building friction and heat, heat and friction as they ran.
After hours of the vain race each had begun to melt into the other. Orange with black streaks, black with orange stripes until all that was left was a beautiful lifeless puddle of orange and black. Before long into the jungle came a rather awkward fellow who happened upon the tragic, if awe-inspiring scene. The clumsy traveler looked down at the mass of melted flesh and fur. All he could say was: "Told them about global warming. . . . The pale pilgrim collected the treasures of the tigress and Lil Black Sambo and set out for the nation's capital.
