Has-been midget circus artiste and occasional film and television actor Sweeney Diplick, 54, is in the news again.
Diplick's sordid revelations of drug dependency, lifelong drunkenness and Jane Seymour fan club addiction on ABC's entertainment program Famous made international headlines last month.
The ensuing media frenzy and subsequent tell-all interviews have reignited interest in the performer.
Now the whole affair has inspired a film à la 1997's In & Out (itself inspired by Tom Hanks' speech at the Academy Awards).
Danny DeVito, who is attached to the project as both its star and director, says:
"Sweeney's life is perfect film material. If only he'd killed a few people along the way, we might have had an even more interesting story to play with."
