Former boy band Blue, who reunited in 2009 after a 4 year split, have announced that they will be taking part in this year's Eurovision Song Contest.
They will perform their song "I Can" on this week's Graham Norton show.
Eurovision have moved quickly to deny claims that allowing bands like Blue to participate in this year's contest would be tantamount to suicide for the show.
Eurovision's Executive Director, Juste Van Tempelhof, said they were delighted that a band of Blue's calibre was participating in this year's competition :
"It is a testament to the popularity of the show and the influence it still exerts in the popular music scene that a band with Blue's status has chosen us to relaunch their foundering music career.
They obviously have great faith in the power of the competition and the positive effect it will have on their future".
Eurovision organisers would not, however, confirm or deny reports that Boy George, Mud and Frank Sinatra were considering entering the contest.
