image for Masterchef Fans Fear TV Repair Man Effect

Fans of BBC's Masterchef were bracing themselves today, fearing that their favourite foodie show might suffer from the threats of TV Repair Man.

The self-appointed vigilante has vowed to purge the TV schedules of reality shows and rubbish daytime programmes. Production staff and presenters are living under police protection.

He apparently scored his first successes last week when two members of the Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is staff quit. Several members of staff on Wanted Down Under and Escape To The Country are also believed to have handed in their notices.

Tonight fans of the booming Gregg Wallace and John Torrode will be hoping that staff on Masterchef are managing to take the heat.

A spokesman said: "Oh use some common sense, for crying out loud. These shows are recorded weeks in advance.

"If the TV Repair Man's going to get Torrode and Wallace it will be before the next season.

"We live in hope."

The story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
