As it emerged today, veteran Manchester United football star, Ryan Giggs has signed yet another one year extension to his contract, but many people are wondering what he will do after he decides to draw the curtain on his distinguished football career?

Sources close to the 54 year old star are convinced that he will take a three year break from the sport, in order to pursue other interests before returning as a coach or manager. These sources insist that "Giggsy" as he is known to the fans, will pack his bags and fly out to Dutch Harbour in the Aleutian Islands to sign up on a crab fishing boat out on the Bering Sea.

Giggs is said to be a huge fan of the Discovery Channel documentary 'Deadliest Catch' and has reportedly expressed privately to trusted friends that his big ambition is to sign up for a crab boat, fishing for king and opilio crab.

"I reckon he'd be a natural on a crab boat," one friend said. "Giggsy knows all about pressure, difficult weather conditions, being frequently away from home, and he certainly understands the value of teamwork. I think he'd make a great deckhand, and be a dab hand at wrangling the crab pots and sorting through the catch."

It is generally understood that Giggsy intended to apply to join the crab boat Cornelia Marie because he was impressed by the unity of the crew, and the leadership of Skipper Phil Harris. Sadly, Captain Phil passed away during filming, forcing Giggsy to cast his net (so to speak) elsewhere.

One source said that Giggsy has been impressed lately by Skipper Sig Hansen of the Northwestern, with Andy Hillstrand of 'Time Bandit' coming in a close second.

It is thought that Giggsy intends to sign up as a greenhorn on the Northwestern in time for the 2012 king crab season, as a warm up for the greatest challenge, Giggsy's debut opilio season, when rough seas, storm force winds and rapidly accumulating arctic ice make conditions on deck highly treacherous.

It is widely believed that Giggsy's superb natural balance and body swerve will serve him well on deck, especially in the challenging opilio season.

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
