With his debut in the Larry King "chair" set to take place in a few days, Piers Morgan has arrived on the set of the talk show to get settled into his new home.
Workers on the show were reportedly startled to see Morgan's new "Larry King clone" look. He now wears dark-rimmed eyeglasses and red suspenders -- suspenders that look suspiciously like the ones recently stolen from King's dressing room.
Morgan also now sports a huge button on his lapel, declaring "Winner, 2008 Celebrity Apprentice Competition." With a big yawn, one of the stagehands remarked, "As if anybody cared."
Insiders say Morgan isn't easy to work with. He's determined to push his British heritage to the extreme, insisting on the British flag as background on the talk show set and "Rule, Britannia!" as the show's new theme song. He even lobbied to have Queen Elizabeth II as a guest on his first show. When producers didn't agree, he chose what he said was a second best choice -- America's queen, Oprah Winfrey.
Morgan has told friends that he expects the announcement of his knighthood to be forthcoming soon. He's anxiously awaiting the day when he'll be known as Sir Piers Morgan.
