Yoko Ono returned to Liverpool, John's birthplace, to celebrate what would have been his 70th bithday, but was begged by the Mayor not to give a rendition of any classic Beatles songs in public, she promised not to!
Yoko did actually attempt on several occassions to sing (?), she even made a record and sung (?) with John and his Plastic Ono Band many years ago.
This grand return to Liverpool was suppose to be a celebration of John's remarkable life and the legacies he left and no way did the city of Liverpool desire a rendition of "Yesterday" or "I am a walrus" by Yoko to disrupt the proceedings.
She agreed, but whilst sitting privately in the bedroom of the house where John grew up a horrendous noise hit the air-waves, sounding like a bunch of stray cats biting the crap out of each other.
The awaiting entourage rushed round to the back alley hoping to find the whinging cats with bricks in their hands only to discover Yono standing at John's open bedroom window singing her version of "A day in the life" from the Sgt. Peppers album with tears streaming down her face.
Ear plugs were immediately issued to the astonished crowd and afterwards Yoko was asked to appear at the local Mosque to open afternoon prayers!
