Rounding out the new fall Saturday morning line up for kids will be a new spin off to a popular auto customizing show called Pimp My Ride. Targeted at kids hoping to upgrade their backyard slides and swing sets, "Pimp My Slide" will feature a team of five ex-rappers turned landscaping contractors, and their endeavors to "Pump Up" boring playscapes.
Featured on the Fox Kids Network and hosted by Ex-Rapper and young adult role model, Flavor Flav, the show will pick a deserving kid each week based on submitted video and request letter. "Basically, we take their busted-ass, rusty swing set, and turn it into a full out, hype, bling-covered Cadillac of play grounds, right in their own back yard", says Mr. Flav.
The pilot was shown to Fox executives followed by rave reviews. Insiders to the show selection process tell reporters that they were thrilled to have content that was anything other than normally developed by a bunch of older, ultra-conservative, rich, white guys. "Yes, we feel that this show will appeal to a diverse cross section of young adults, from ages 6 to 13, and not just upper class Caucasian children", said one executive who covered his ID badge with his left hand while running to his private elevator.
"This show is PHAT", claims Mr. Flav. "Yo. Our first kid got some slick Teflon layered on a new curved slide, we built up a new tree house with wide screen TV and extra sub woofers in the walls, and added a car trunk from a 1972 Eldorado in case you need to hide something big and fast, yo". Indeed.
Pimp My Slide will air on Saturdays at 10:00 AM Eastern, right after "Jersey Shore Teens", a new reality show that exploits the vanity of Asbury Park kids between the ages of 10 and 14. Both shows will be rated TVMA.
