"Everyone knows that drinking and driving can lead to accidents," says the voiceover for a new commercial by Budweiser airing during the World Cup. "That's why, after enjoying a few beers at the local pub, these nuns are walking back to the convent. No designated driver needed."

This witty new campaign is aimed at making beer drinkers out of the nuns who only drink wine, and it seems to be working. Already, the local supermarkets are noting an increase in towns with large convent communities. "Most people don't believe that nuns drink, let alone drink beer, but there's no law against it, and after a particularly hard day of praying, a nice cold beer goes down really smooth," claims Sister Mary Margaret Magdaline Mercy, one of the nuns in the commercial.

"Of course, the 'wiser' part of the ad campaign can go two ways," says the creator of the ad. "On the one hand, the nuns are wiser for choosing to walk instead of drive back to the convent. But the more important fact remains that making Budweiser their beer of choice is the wiser decision."

At any rate, the new Budweiser ad hits another ball out of the park and is expected to outshine even the Budweiser "Whazzup" commercials from a few years back.

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
