If WE don't care how our policemen look - soon THEY will stop caring about their appearance too

When is a copper not a copper and more like a cooper? Answer: When he works for Sussex Police and is made to wear the new drap, cheap looking uniforms which would be better off being worn by coopers.

They're not even BLUE. How can we continue to use the phrase 'Our boys in blue'? The public will be extremely irate if this plan for new uniforms goes ahead and sweeps the nation.

Policemen in Sussex are not 'happy campers' these days. No longer looking like professional 'keepers of the law' but more like 'blacksmiths', they also complain about 'shrinkage'

One policeman said that after ONE wash his uniform shrunk 20 per cent and he ended up heading in to work looking more like Pee Wee Herman than a 'serious' constable.

We need our policemen to be comfortable, but making them dress in cheap crap will end up demoralizing the force and it is, also, a totally false economy.

The individuals who 'serve and protect' should be able to walk out onto the streets with their heads held high, not with their trousers legs six inches too short, making them look like clowns.

This is a growing trend in other municipalities across the country.

Come on, get them some decent clobber, NO MATTER WHAT THE COST!

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
