How Many Make-Believe "Easy Riders Out There?"

Legendary actor Dennis Hopper has died at the age of 74. Hopper, who was not the easiest person to be around, according to those who loved him, had prostate cancer.

"Hopper was a pain in the ass but a great friend", stated Jack Nicholson. "He gave every director the fits, even when HE was the director."

A star in movies like "Rebel Without A Cause", he then appeared in a few losers until he came up with his own, "Easy Rider". From that day on, if anyone mentioned Dennis Hopper as an actor, they mentioned him in "Easy Rider".

Hopper was a two-time Academy Award Nominee.

"I didn't kiss anyone's ass, so I didn't win", Hopper was reported as saying after losing each time. "I'm not that ass, Jack Nicholson, who could fart and win."

"That sounds like Hopper", stated Nicholson. "But he called me and congratulated me every time I won although he let me have it when he thought Billy Bob Thornton's "Slingblade" role should have won that one year."

Hopper was in both of the hit James Dean movies and decided he wanted to do movies himself. It worked great in "Easy Rider", it didn't work in others.

One of the most famous tales in Hollywood is that Hopper made John Wayne so mad while they were filming "True Grit" that Wayne got after him with a loaded pistol.

"He kept doing his lines in Wayne's draw", stated one cameraman who was there. "He even added that 'Pilgrim' thing. Wayne finally lost it calling Hopper a pot-headed hippy."

"But Hopper liked the reality thing. You could see that in his appearing in "Apocalypse Now" where Wayne was in the shoot-em-up "Green Beret".

The story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
