The cinematic event that every British girl was waiting for took place in Leicester Square on the 27th of May. Sex and the City 2 is perhaps one of the most anticipated female-oriented movies of all time, and early reviews smother the film with praise for fashion, fun and frolics. Interestingly, the film's ability to unite the female sex has also managed to unite men all across the country in their despair and tales of woe having been dragged along with their respective partners.

However, there appears to be a more crucial risk to the men who have been taken along to witness the film. An independent study by the University of South Didcot tested sperm numbers, motility and general reproductive function in a random selection of men before and after seeing an early private screening of the film. The results were shocking: 92% of men that were tested had significantly reduced sperm motility, and a drop of about 1/2 in overall total sperm count. Professor Brian Harvey who headed up the study had strong concerns - "This data is astounding, although expected, as it is now clear that there is a definitive physiological link between the male reproductive system and so called 'chick-flick' moving pictures".

Sperm characteristics were not alone in terms of the changes the film evoked. 72% of the males tested also had significantly reduced testicular size, and with many complaining of being unable to achieve erections for several days after the film. Professor Harvey is quick to quench concerns for those who have already seen the film, but that prolonged exposure is worrying: "Men should not be afraid at this point, as we found that normal sperm levels, genital function and appearance were re-established after approximately 7 days. However, it is my strong suggestion that men now do not put themselves at risk with such films, as the long term effects may be disastrous".

Therefore it now appears that men have a genuine case for going to pub and leaving their partners to it, as it may just be a case of their actual health and safety. These damaging findings come shortly after the recent press exposure when it was discovered that several of the leading cast had been genetically modified using foetal shark DNA to remain young.
