HOLLYWOOD - The Ryder Bittermelon and Salisbury Cardoon situation comedy The Little Peckers of Peoria County starring Jon Gosselin and Sean Penn has been abruptly cancelled after only two weeks.

The Fox Network said that they had no choice but to cancel the show due to the fact that the first week it had a nationwide viewing audience of 18,904, and for the second week the viewership dropped down to 137.

Bittermelon attributed the dismal viewer numbers because of the fact that the shows writers made fun of Catholics, Republicans, biological clocks, Wynonna Judd Nude Bubblegum Trading Cards, breakfast, and the guppy food recall of 2009.

When Jon Gosselin was asked to comment on the show being canceled after only two weeks he shook his head and said, "Oh well at least I won't have to commute between my residence in Reading, Pennsylvania, and our location setting in Peoria, Illinois anymore."

Sean Penn merely smiled and said that he just wanted to know what the hell all of those colorful figures floating around before his eyes were.

Penn was put in a taxi and immediately driven to the airport.
