Once surfer rock group The Turtles have long suffered with the notion that they were the first true one hit wonders of the modren rock era. Whenever anyone says The Turtles the only song that they can name is that brain plaguing lyric, Happy Together whose music and words are about as happy together as the harmony between Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor.
In the same way that unhappy marriages have driven otherwise talented folks to drink, divorce and multiple plastic surgeries , it seems that The Turtles had their time of insane desperation this week when they blocked a runway on NYC's JFK airport to sing their classic rock tune, Happy Together. The quartet was carried away to a local loonie bin that coincidentally housed both Sir Richard and his famous Shrew, Liz at one time, seperately of course. Rumour has it that they, The Turtles, not Liz and Dick, were offered a new recording contract for a commercial for a yet to be named new airline that will seek to have very slow but really safe service.
