In the heady days of the 1970s, lead singer of the infamous Brit punk band, The Sex Pistols, Johnny Rotten, once famously concluded a US gig with the words:
"Do you feel you've been conned?"
Rotten, now known as John Lydon, a half Irish ne'er do well currently living in LA and appearing on British TV advertising butter told us:
"We thought we were the ultimate rip-off merchants. With the passage of time, and the tragic demise of Sid, we realise now that we didn't know the half of it. With the passage of time and the benefit of hindsight, collectively, we now appreciate that there are far smoother criminals out there than we ever were. This has got to be a far bigger rock and roll swindle than we could ever have engineered."
Rotten/Lydon, stuck two fingers up at reporters as he departed a press conference, saying:
"I always thought we were the ultimate rock and roll swindle. It would appear not to be the case. That's just fucked up my career."
More Rotten related ridiculousness as we get it.
