J.K. Rowling, during a series of press conferences yesterday, declared that she would be writing an eighth book in a series of seven Harry Potter books.
Rowling initially said, shortly after the 7th came out, that no more were to be had (much to the consternation of her adoring fans). Nevertheless, she went back on her promise, as most authors eventually do, and even went so far as to give a summary of the plot line:
"Well, basically the main plot is that Harry is so overwhelmed with thank-yous and adoration that he collapses, causing the return of Voldemort. Then everyone fights again and kills him for the last time...until the 9th book."
Such eloquence! Such passion! Such creativity! Readers can surely tell that this will be the best book of the Harry Potter series, just like the last one was proclaimed...and the one before that, and the one before that, and the one before that.
